Myer one: how to get started

Myer one pays back about 2% of what you spend. Here's how it works, how to choose between Fast Rewards and Points Banking, and when to pay with Velocity Points.

Myer one: 2% back, and paying with Velocity Points. Illustration of a chrome shopping bag on a blue gradient.

Spend $500 at Myer and you'll earn a $10 reward. That's the simple maths of Myer one: 2 points per dollar, and $10 back for every 1,000 points, which works out to about 2% of what you spend.

Here's how the program works, and how it now connects with Velocity.

What is Myer one?

Myer one is Myer's free loyalty program. You earn points on purchases in store and online, and they turn into rewards to spend at Myer. Joining takes a couple of minutes.

How you earn

  • At Myer: 2 Myer one points per $1.
  • Partners: at least 1 point per $1 at linked partners such as Webjet, Petbarn and DoorDash.

Fast Rewards or Points Banking?

You choose how rewards are paid:

  • Fast Rewards: a $10 reward lands each time you reach 1,000 points.
  • Points Banking: points build up until you choose to use them, handy if you're saving for a big purchase or a sale.

Tiers

Myer one has four tiers, with the membership year running from 1 April to 31 March. Higher tiers, based on your spend, add benefits like double points days and complimentary beauty treatments.

Paying at Myer with Velocity Points

Since 22 September 2025, Velocity members can pay with points at Myer in store and online, either with points alone or points plus cash. In store, you generate a single-use QR code in the Velocity app.

You'll still earn Myer one points on purchases paid with Velocity Points.

Is it good value? Usually not compared with flights. Check the cash price against the points price: if each Velocity Point is worth much less than a cent, flights are a better use. What are your points worth? shows how.

Why retailers accept airline points

Letting members spend airline points brings in shoppers who might not otherwise come in, and the retailer is paid in cash by the airline program. For the airline, it's another way to let members use their points, which keeps them engaged, at a fixed and predictable cost.

What I'd do this week

  1. Join Myer one and scan every purchase.
  2. Choose Points Banking if you're saving for a sale.
  3. Save Velocity Points for flights unless you have a small balance to use up.
